Levels.. a simple trick

Here is a simple trick when you want to git rid of the grayish color of an image after you scanned a printed document and want to reprint it (much more like a photocopy) although scanners has this feature of instant copying, the output yields somewhat "dirty" or grayish background all over (takes the white or colored background and shows grayish background all over)..

after scanning (grayscale mode) often the picture on Photoshop and just follow this simple steps.

CLICK > IMAGE > ADJUSTMENT > LEVELS OR ctrl L

and adjust the input level.. the left part is the black-to-blacker (shadow) part and the right is the white -whiter (highlight) ..normally you would make this two adjustment bar meet each other in the middle just like the image below..(or input numbers in the corresponding input box just below the adjustment bar)
