Valentine's Day

Hey I know it's quite late or early (defending on how you follow the calendar) for a valentine movie, but love has no season. haha..Powerhouse cast.. big names of both established and new ones (the two Taylors are here !)

Its light approach to love and comedy is quite good, and very entertaining at the same time, for a moment I thought it will be chaotic plot or unbalance as I've mention it is starred by quite handful actor but they did a good job of balancing the story and giving every major character a descent exposure and time to tell their wonderful tale in a two hour run. The last scene completes the many faces of love and relationship..

The Lost Tribe aka Lost Island

B-Movie as it can be, the actors are not familiar I can't recognize big names or ever recall the actors now, for a while I thought it can be a great film, when i saw the plot concerning a missing link wherein the Church panic for the findings of the archeologist about the missing link between humans and apes proving that God did not created humans on the sixth day, but after seeing the holy bible for a second the brilliant conflict vanished, the whole movie became like a scene from Arnold's THE PREDATOR (7/10). The appearance and infra vision of the ape men are very predator like, the deep voice and dreadnought and nothing more than a copycat monsters from previous film.

The ending is so simple, if only they opted to be more unique and creative and maybe held on to the "church thing" plot this could have been a good sci-fi horror film..

Eclipse (Twilight Saga)

Finally I got to watch the latest hyped movie of the year, and I may say this is the best yet(among the installments). Twilight (7/10) - the primer of the saga is nothing much of an an introduction of the characters, but vital one especially Richard Pattinson's.. being the lead role, a vampire whose characteristic is different from the popular folklore (actually the novel created a new world of two of the most popular folkloric horror creatures in the western world -wolves and vampires by giving them different or maybe unique attributes, a vampire that is not afraid of the sun and a wolf that can shapeshift anytime), as Edward Cullen he made an iconic portrayal and I believed he is the source of the success of the saga's film, he made the character so like-able to all girls, and to some guys..haha, some credit to Stewart also who made the love team a huge success. In New Moon (7.5/10) Jacobs character came to rise to build a love triangle that is a hit to every teen-agers, making the popularity of the franchise even bigger.

In Eclipse (8/10)the battle between the cold and hotter became more intense, the very reason that I favor this installment is the action, fighting scenes are more exciting.. a more improved CGI and much better script.. the now famous TENT SCENE proved that the script writing is dramatically improved compared to the previous ones; the Twilight..believe by many as having an horrible script.

In the end it matters to me that I (together with Bebeh) enjoyed and keep enjoying the saga. Enough of the "mushy comments" that I have been reading throughout the forum, stop the whining, after all this is a love story in the first place, if you are wanting to have bloodier and non-stop action vampire/wolves movies better see Blade (8/10) or The Underworld Series 1 and 2 only (9/10)the prequel sucks..
