Greek mythologies are tireless subject when it comes to adventure and fantasy, their vivid illustration of imaginations and mystic creatures are always interesting to learn and discover again and again, in this film the gods and demigods came to entertain us again retelling fascinating adventures unmatched with limitless imaginations. Due to technology in terms of visual effects high expectations and anticipations are now focus on who ever makes a film on such subject.
I have read lots of reviews and comments how this film became a critical failure and a dismay to most movie goers and critics. I haven't seen the 3D version so I cannot comment on that although there it seems the whole or the chunk of the throwing tomatoes came from. Many complain on how it was poorly digitalized. But the portion on which I would agree on many critics is the way they made the fights scenes somewhat less as to what we are expecting. The supposed to be climactic battle between Kraken and Perseus was short of thrilling us, the digital illustration of the monster is cool enough but with todays technology it does not give much flavor. The script is also short of entertaining and witty exchange or argument, and much of the character died easily without epic appeal to us, and lastly I think the original mythology or version of the mythical story of Perseus is far from this remake.
My Rating: 7/10
