contrary to its title the film is brilliant, the singing and dancing scenes though will have me needing more time getting used to, from what I understand it is very common to Bollywood films actually this is only the second bollywood that i have seen (first - slum dog millionaire 9/10), and time and time again it has proven that the best and essential part of the complex process of making a great movie is the story itself.
raunchy comedy, i believe it is a pre-quel or sequel or spin-off to the movie forgetting sarah marshall (7/10)..quite funny at times but i find it more dramatic towards the in..hahaha
Yes, the title of movie is the main theme; the infamous "Black Death", others called the Great Pestilence or the Great Plague, widely believed as the Bubonic Plague that almost wipe the entire population of human race especially in Europe during Medieval times.
The movie tells the interesting stories of faith (Christianity and Paganism), witchcraft, love and miracles - the need for it in times of desperation and how it can be misleading in times such as.
Sean Bean put an impressive performance again, I'm getting used to see him play medieval character since LORT, he's a sure fit in these types of roles.
I've heard the director (Smith)has created some good horror films, but this is my first movie of him, evidently you can see a lot of horror elements in the film. The cinematography is good, and of course the screenplay is superb. Definitely one of the best film I've seen lately.
It was not bad after all, it could have been better but not bad, as I read lots of comments from fans comparing the movie to Dragon Ball Z movie (an epic fail of capturing a great anime into live motion picture).
I had low expectation since then, which became an advantage to me when i finally saw it in the big screen (low expectation = low frustration). Good choice of character, although Jin was introduce as a boy next door type, still in the fight scenes he did justice, Christine Monteiro character was played by a sizzling hot actress Kely Overton. Heihachi was so close in resemblance with the original character, and also with the lesser character they did a good job (in casting). I just find the story and the final battles short.
Still recommendable, but just follow what I did, expect less, and gain more at the end.
It's a biographical film featuring the all girl rock band, who wanted to have a spot on a decade where rock n roll is dominated by men. It showcased their struggle and their short-lived fame.
The film is also hit its target illustrating the culture of the controversial rock n' roll music, I am sure many are familiar with the song "I love rock n Roll", who later Joan Jett release after the Runways disbanded.
I felt a little tired or burn out after watching this movie, maybe its the effect of a good directing of the film. Somehow I felt the character's struggle during their juvenile years. Still a recommendable movie.
another dark-comedy film, it tells about jobs, odd-jobs, the ugly look of not having a stable job, the dangers of out sourcing (sub-contract) and how money (big money) can be a motivating factor to do job you are not capable or not use to doing it.
twist and turns are fantastic, very unpredictable..
Everyone is complaining on the title of this project when it was first announced that this is the remake of the classic film Karate Kid (Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, Elisabeth Shue.) Will everybody should be because this not a film about Karate its actually Kung fu.
This is a remake? hardly, the premise is there.. young kid, bullied and unlikely master came to rescue, but that's it. This film is short of reviving the craze of the old movie, the iconic labor training (or training muscle memory by doing chores with repetitive movements usually counter clock wise to clockwise hand movements) the wax on wax out, the painting and polishing and the famous "crane kick" finale..If they intend to remake the movie they should have stick to it rather making a kung-fu counterpart. It turns out that they only capitalize on the old film and marketed this lame movie on its proven name/title.
The young smith's acting fell short also. If not for the scenic backdrop of China and the presence of Jacky Chan, I will rate this movie lower and add a "remake fail" slogan to it..
I had to watch this in installment (two nights) maybe I am just tired or the movie is boring (I think its a combination of both).
I think Jennifer Garner is not totally fit for the role (Or maybe I am just to accustomed to seeing her in here cool role as a seductive spy in alias).
The movies has a few similar premises like BIG 6/10, maybe it safe to call this as the female version..
Love and Music, two of common elements of life that gives us joy, although the former fades sometimes, than the latter and according to the writer of the movie it's fragile..
Here in this movie again, I was still fascinated by the charisma Miley Cyrus brings (just like her Hannah Montana 8/10) , she's not an A actor nor a hard ten bomb, but she is always likable like her songs.
The plot is nothing special more like bits of tiny pieces of life we see everyday, glued into one to give us a dramatic persuasion of the direction of the story. More like the songs, Miley regularly sings.
surprisingly good, I had low expectation on this film considering it is not made or distributed by the popular outfits, and not starred by marque names either, but the story is interesting and the employment of flashback from the past to the present, thrilled me. The usual element of horror are present but more realistic, less gore, but still freaky, the ending and the pre-climax to climax scenes are very amusing.(the movie - not the scene itself because it is quite disturbing)..
Realistic police-drama movie, acting is great considering that this is an all-star cast after-all, Richard Gere is good as always, also the supporting cast Snipes, Don and Hawke,.. Violence, blood-bath, typical racial crime illustration and political views that are already common to police-crime movies..I think the ending is symbolic, kinda meant to me as a summary of all the bad figures we are all familiar with men in uniforms..Actually this film, focuses on struggle of some officers, Hawke's character is very typical connotation of good - (trying to be a good cop) to- bad (his situation and needs) cops here in my country. Gere's a bit unique, Don - very sad..Still a good old-styled cop movie.
Movies for the boys!, this macho movie is a total entertainer, the story line is not a Pulitzer material, but the action (fight sequence) is superb. Mix Martial Arts has never been more entertaining than this one, and the beauty of this film, is that they made it realistic, you are just like watching a MMA Championship Fight, but with the idea of who's gonna win..
Scot Adkins put up some unbelievable stunts and likable Russian ascent, I barely recognize him as the protagonist of an action film called Ninja (6/10)..But I know his name ring a bell, I will definitely follow his movies from now on!
