Don't push the panic button just yet..
scenario before it happened..
power interruption (usual in the Philippines, deym)
especially those short on and off thing...it kinda create a power surge that usually destroys lots of electronic devices such as your PC..
so when it happens (your pc) and the next thing that shows on your screen upon boot up is the message..
"hard disk boot failure"
you may pull this simple trick it usually works on me..
1. open the case of your CPU
2. re- seat the power cable and sata/ide cable of your Hard disk
3. then toss a prayer ..hehe
when it boots (hopefully, run disk utilities such as chkdsk to insure the integrity of your hdd's data)
when it does not...SAVE SOME MONEY AND BUY A NEW HDD, the power surge just fried your HDD...
Other Problems encountered during Power Interruption/Surge..
1. Windows/system corrupt
2. PSU (power supply) - fried
3. modem/router - freeze, fried
MUCH WORSE WHEN THE SURGE IS CREATED BY A THUNDERSTORM..
PREVENTION: buy some UPC (Uninterpretable Power Supply) look for those models that has a surge protection feature..
